An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingemar Vallgren in the 28th minute of play forced Wellford AFC's goalkeeper J.C. Barker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th match minute, Wellford AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Winston Moser to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute Carson Craven shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but J.C. Barker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Dirk Biggs fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rich Hill FC's protests and gave Dirk Biggs a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Rich Hill FC's Dirk Biggs got a free kick in the 32nd minute. The wind increased when Shayne Garland made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Wellford AFC's zone, Ian Brennan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. J.C. Barker came out of the goal and Ian Brennan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. J.C. Barker made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ian Brennan in the 86th minute. In the 88th minute of the match Rich Hill FC got a corner. Wellford AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Craig Chang ran over to the corner to take the kick. Wellford AFC's J.C. Barker proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Wellford AFC from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ingemar Vallgren during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rich Hill FC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Wellford AFC had won, even though Rich Hill FC had held more of the ball.
