The corner led Recolta Alamor's Sherwood Petty to fire away a dangerous shot which Boyd Winkler despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of Recolta Alamor booed when Pueblo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Greg Shipley didn't get a good kick on the ball. Damian Dean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Boyd Winkler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Pueblo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Damian Dean came free, but Boyd Winkler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerry Franco in the 42nd minute of play forced Recolta Alamor's goalkeeper Nacho Gonzalez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Boyd Winkler made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Wes Nichols sent off a good shot on target. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Damian Dean stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pueblo FC's Boyd Winkler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damian Dean in the 55th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Pueblo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Emmanuel Pennington came free, but Boyd Winkler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vern Wright's late challenge caught a Recolta Alamor's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vern Wright helped the player get up and apologised. Vern Wright kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Boyd Winkler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damian Dean, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. A hard shot 74 in the game by Gerry Franco from a close distance when the talented Nacho Gonzalez managed to make a qualified save. Recolta Alamor's players were relieved. Boyd Winkler stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emmanuel Pennington's shot from short distance in the 80th minute.
