In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind C. A. Independiente's goalkeeper Farid Mondragón, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Farid Mondragón showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pascal Hayden, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Iurie Dășanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kerry Sellers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Sid Chadwick came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the C. A. Independiente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sid Chadwick couldn't finish the play. Farid Mondragón showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nigel Cordero, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. A collision led to þînk þ£st ƒç getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Preston Dias hit a great ball. þînk þ£st ƒç's Iurie Dășanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kerry Sellers in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Sid Chadwick left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C. A. Independiente fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Kerry Sellers struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Iurie Dășanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C. A. Independiente. Berry Chan kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Iurie Dășanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kerry Sellers in the 28th minute of play. Farid Mondragón showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santo Gore, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After a defensive mix-up in þînk þ£st ƒç's zone, Kerry Sellers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iurie Dășanu came out of the goal and Kerry Sellers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Salvatore Hartley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kerry Sellers might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iurie Dășanu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kerry Sellers ran back to his position shaking his head. 41 minutes into the match, þînk þ£st ƒç's goal looked a bit too open when Kerry Sellers came free, but Iurie Dășanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

C. A. Independiente made a substitution. Tommie Bolton replaced Sidney Forbes. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tommie Bolton made a kick off. A collision led to C. A. Independiente getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Tomas Gustafson hit a great ball. Salvatore Hartley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Farid Mondragón tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 58 minutes into the match, þînk þ£st ƒç's goal looked a bit too open when Kerry Sellers came free, but Iurie Dășanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Farid Mondragón made an important save on a dangerous shot by Salvatore Hartley in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kerry Sellers in the 61st minute of play forced þînk þ£st ƒç's goalkeeper Iurie Dășanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Farid Mondragón stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nigel Cordero's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. 69 minutes into the match, þînk þ£st ƒç's goal looked a bit too open when Kerry Sellers came free, but Iurie Dășanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kerry Sellers in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iurie Dășanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. C. A. Independiente were awarded a corner in the 71th minute after þînk þ£st ƒç's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tommie Bolton took the corner. 75 minutes into the match, þînk þ£st ƒç's goal looked a bit too open when Kerry Sellers came free, but Iurie Dășanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Farid Mondragón showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nigel Cordero, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. The supporters of C. A. Independiente booed when þînk þ£st ƒç was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Berry Chan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Berry Chan hit a great ball. In the 84th minute, Tommie Bolton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Farid Mondragón made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pascal Hayden in the 86th minute. Kerry Sellers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Preston Dias fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored þînk þ£st ƒç's protests and gave Preston Dias a yellow card for diving instead. 91 minutes into the match, þînk þ£st ƒç's goal looked a bit too open when Kerry Sellers came free, but Iurie Dășanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the þînk þ£st ƒç players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for C. A. Independiente.
