La Trinitense Mecánica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coryal the free kick. After 18 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for La Trinitense Mecánica! Marlon Cox walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Alfred Dymally showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Winston Ramnath, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Winston Ramnath received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Alfred Dymally tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. La Trinitense Mecánica's Robert Baldeosingh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save La Trinitense Mecánica from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Winston Ramnath's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfred Dymally was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. After 39 played minutes, Coryal's John Theobald shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Robert Baldeosingh came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Coryal reached it. Bird Garcia hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Coryal's Chris Moloney got a free kick in the 45th minute. The audience was convinced that Darren Persaud's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfred Dymally was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 62nd match minute, Coryal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osei Cox to maneuver through the defense. 63 minutes into the match, La Trinitense Mecánica's Darren Persaud sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alfred Dymally narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Darren Persaud kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alfred Dymally. That made the score 0-1 in the 86 minute of play. If Darren Persaud had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Coryal's defense didn't have a chance, in the 93rd minute, when Darren Persaud scored to the left of an out of position Alfred Dymally, making the score, 0-2. Bird Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfred Dymally having to interfere. The La Trinitense Mecánica supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing La Trinitense Mecánica would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
