Spectators: 9225 (Terracing: 6920, Seating: 2122, VIP seats: 183) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rodrigo Ayala started the match with the kick off. Ciano Govelo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jorge Torcida went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 6th minute of the match, Jorge Torcida tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ciano Govelo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miliano Roza in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ciano Govelo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rich Barth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Esteves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gabriel Labiada kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Rodrigo Ayala kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Ciano Govelo made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Guillermo Paiva sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, FRANCISCO's Ciano Govelo got control of the ball when Guillermo Paiva tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 27th minute, Miliano Roza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ciano Govelo was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Jorge Torcida took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Ciano Govelo to make any attempt to save it. In the 37th minute, Arturo Antonijoan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FRANCISCO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. FRANCISCO's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Miliano Roza 43 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 5-1. Guillermo Paiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Ciano Govelo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jorge Torcida stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Arturo Antonijoan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rich Barth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 52nd minute FRANCISCO were awarded a corner. Chineze Cannavaro went to the cornerflag to take it. Benedicto Malet charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benedicto Malet the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rich Barth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Antonijoan in the 55th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Esteves in the 57th minute of play forced Caaguazu's goalkeeper Rich Barth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arturo Antonijoan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rich Barth having to interfere. Caaguazu's Rich Barth proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Caaguazu from getting a goal against them. FRANCISCO's Ciano Govelo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Torcida in the 65th minute of play. Rich Barth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oskar Lindenberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. The audience was convinced that Guillermo Paiva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ciano Govelo was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Caaguazu made a substitution. Reyes Barcenilla replaced Gabriel Labiada. Ciano Govelo came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Caaguazu's Bartolome Moracia. But to his dismay, Bartolome Moracia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-1. Benedicto Malet kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. After having played for 81 minutes, Jorge Torcida managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caaguazu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorge Torcida was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ciano Govelo came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Caaguazu's Martino Millan. But to his dismay, Martino Millan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-1. Rodrigo Ayala's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 86thth minute, Rich Barth skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Caaguazu's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Arturo Antonijoan 89 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 8-2. Caaguazu's Rich Barth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodrigo Ayala in the 94th minute of play. Ciano Govelo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martino Millan in the 95th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Caaguazu fans cheered their team off the field, for while FRANCISCO had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
