In the 28th minute Roque Gora shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Cordoba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Made in Paraguay getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Manuelo Onil hit a great ball. Made in Paraguay's Oscar Cordoba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelson Haedo in the 42nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Made in Paraguay's Agostinho Madureira got a free kick in the 46th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nelson Haedo to make the kick off. Club Olimpia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Denis Inestrosa in the 54th minute. The corner ended in Roque Gora almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Made in Paraguay's Oscar Cordoba did a great save. Alfredo Aguilar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vilmar Heidemann in the 56th minute of play. In the 60th minute Club Olimpia were awarded a corner. Denis Inestrosa went to the cornerflag to take it. After a rather tough play, Made in Paraguay's Vilmar Heidemann got a free kick in the 60th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Made in Paraguay's zone, Nelson Haedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oscar Cordoba came out of the goal and Nelson Haedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vilmar Heidemann struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Alfredo Aguilar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Made in Paraguay. Made in Paraguay made a substitution. Blanco Cotilla replaced Iratxo Acosta. Alfredo Aguilar came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Made in Paraguay's Vilmar Heidemann. But to his dismay, Vilmar Heidemann quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arne Iten during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Made in Paraguay made a substitution. Roque Santa Cruz replaced Vilmar Heidemann. The referee felt a red card was in order, 89 minutes into the game, when Arne Iten put in a rough tackle. In the 90th minute, Arne Iten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Denis Inestrosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Olimpia's supporters rose to their feet, but Denis Inestrosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oscar Cordoba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Made in Paraguay support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
