A collision led to Guzmán getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Claudio Lozano hit a great ball. 16 minutes in the game, Eloy Canellas fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Kelvin Badía having to interfere. Eloy Canellas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Kelvin Badía when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 20th minute, Guzmán's Eloy Canellas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kelvin Badía. Kelvin Badía yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. The supporters of Villa Mella CF booed when Guzmán was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernesto Córdova didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute Enrique Guillén shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucio Chapado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eloy Canellas in the 31st minute of play forced Villa Mella CF's goalkeeper Kelvin Badía to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Eloy Canellas came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Guzmán fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eloy Canellas couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gervasio Pedraza to strike the kick off in the second half. Kelvin Badía showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eloy Canellas in the 54th minute of the match. Ernesto Córdova fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kelvin Badía having to interfere. 56 minutes into the game, Fabricio Riojas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Villa Mella CF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guzmán the free kick. A collision led to Villa Mella CF getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Fabricio Riojas hit a great ball. Kelvin Badía took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eloy Canellas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raúl Mena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 71 played minutes Guzmán got a freekick which was hit by Elías Brizuela. Kelvin Badía showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eloy Canellas in the 75th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eloy Canellas in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kelvin Badía prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kelvin Badía made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eloy Canellas in the 78th minute of play. Eloy Canellas took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kelvin Badía. Kelvin Badía dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Ernesto Córdova received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Kelvin Badía tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Villa Mella CF's Kelvin Badía played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eloy Canellas in the 93rd minute of play.
