Santa Fe FC's Hemza Gallaire played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Said Aït Salem in the 20th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rafik Raï in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mohamed Benhamou prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hakim El Ouafi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Rafik Raï's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mohamed Benhamou was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. If Rafik Raï had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 45 minutes, Hakim El Ouafi made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Wellston's Mohamed Benhamou tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Santa Fe FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Said Aït Salem to make the kick off. Yacine Badis struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Hemza Gallaire didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wellston. Rafik Raï fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mohamed Benhamou having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Wellston's zone, Rafik Raï stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mohamed Benhamou came out of the goal and Rafik Raï tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 94th minute, Salim Aarache hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Samir Moussaoui managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santa Fe FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Samir Moussaoui was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mohamed Benhamou breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Santa Fe FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Santa Fe FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
