Liamine Achiou stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmond Sifi's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. After 15 played minutes Cottage Grove got a freekick which was hit by Mehdi Chadl. Fadhil Boutabout fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faouzi Gourion having to interfere. After some careless play in the Idylwood defense, Rabah Abbas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Faouzi Gourion. The Idylwood fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Faouzi Gourion should have stopped the shot. Liamine Achiou made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edmond Sifi to make the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Rabah Abbas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. But to his dismay, Benamar Bellemou Messaoud quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Cottage Grove's Liamine Achiou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmond Sifi in the 67th minute of play. Rabah Abbas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Idylwood's Mansour Adjani got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 80th minute, Chaba Matmour got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Liamine Achiou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Farès Medjoudj in the 82nd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Edmond Sifi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Liamine Achiou was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Idylwood were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
