Elvis Kincaid hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. NDG United's Gregorio Naylor got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 6 minutes into the match, NDG United's goal looked a bit too open when Amos Haas came free, but Ignace Mullins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 13 minutes into the game, Gregorio Naylor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Reuben Lin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Hank Gustafson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute, Hank Gustafson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 26 minutes into the game, Al Tremblay was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Waterdown's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave NDG United the free kick. After 26 played minutes Waterdown got a freekick which was hit by Al Tremblay. Jérôme Alfaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Gregorio Naylor managed to get in a good position for a shot. NDG United's supporters rose to their feet, but Gregorio Naylor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reuben Lin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind NDG United's goalkeeper Ignace Mullins, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 45 minutes into the match, Waterdown's goal looked a bit too open when Hank Gustafson came free, but Reuben Lin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gregorio Naylor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reuben Lin having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Hank Gustafson made the kick off in the second half. With his leg Ignace Mullins managed to avoid a goal in the 53rdth minute, when Waterdown's Elvis Kincaid fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 62nd match minute, Waterdown was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kurt Proulx to maneuver through the defense. When Carey Rouleau fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Waterdown's protests and gave Carey Rouleau a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Waterdown getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Carey Rouleau hit a great ball. If Hank Gustafson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hank Gustafson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Waterdown's Reuben Lin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hank Gustafson in the 72nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, NDG United's Edmond Ho got a free kick in the 76th minute. Jérôme Alfaro made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 77thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Ignace Mullins would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. In the 79th minute Amos Haas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ignace Mullins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Waterdown's goalkeeper Reuben Lin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hank Gustafson scored 3-0 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Reuben Lin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. There was no doubt that NDG United were the better team. NDG United's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
