Josue Brady didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabian Bisaillon struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Rex Hopkins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Howley. In the 19th minute, Fabian Bisaillon fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After some careless play in the Howley defense, Frances Clinton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lee Gladu. The Howley fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lee Gladu should have stopped the shot. Howley's Wiley Frye got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frances Clinton hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. The referee gave Torrance FC a penalty, 36 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Abe McKee, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Howley's Lee Gladu. 1-2. Lee Gladu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frances Clinton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lee Gladu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luigi Ritter in the 44th minute of play. Rex Hopkins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wiley Frye, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wiley Frye to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Torrance FC's goalkeeper Rex Hopkins, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 58th minute Fabian Bisaillon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rex Hopkins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Torrance FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
