Delhi's Horacio Steele got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 11thth minute of the game Teodoro Grady who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Delhi's Richard Spears was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dick Walton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Richard Spears showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodoro Grady in the 19th minute of the match. When Corentin Metivier fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sarrail's protests and gave Corentin Metivier a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Delhi booed when Sarrail was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Corentin Metivier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mike English acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 22nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Spencer Chrétien. After 27 played minutes Delhi got a freekick which was hit by Tony Chaloux. 30 minutes into the match, Sarrail's Teodoro Grady sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Richard Spears narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 31 minutes, Horacio Steele managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Delhi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Horacio Steele was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 35 minutes into the match, Sarrail's goalkeeper Mike English had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Horacio Steele. The audience was convinced that Sergio Clements's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mike English was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Richard Spears made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dick Walton in the 37th minute of play. Sarrail's Herman Savage couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 57th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Delhi. Horacio Steele sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Sergio Clements had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sergio Clements in the 65th minute of play forced Sarrail's goalkeeper Mike English to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dick Walton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Richard Spears tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Alexis Lemieux fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Horacio Steele in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mike English saved Sarrail from getting behind. Teodoro Grady was extremely unlucky when he, in the 86th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Teodoro Grady had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Dick Walton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodoro Grady fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Spears having to interfere. The Sarrail players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
