Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Cumberland's Jacques McNair started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the match, Kris Vick had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Randolph Courtemanche. UVIC Vikes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kris Vick was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. UVIC Vikes's Mohammad Thorne got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Mohammad Thorne came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the UVIC Vikes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mohammad Thorne couldn't finish the play. Randolph Courtemanche showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacques McNair in the 19th minute of the match. After 19 minutes, Genaro Norbert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the UVIC Vikes and the Cumberland players grew even worse after the yellow card. UVIC Vikes's Randolph Courtemanche played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacques McNair in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd match minute, UVIC Vikes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cornell Blue to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute, Gérard Puckett got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Ahmed Fountain fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cumberland's protests and gave Ahmed Fountain a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Cumberland getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Ahmed Fountain hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, UVIC Vikes's Odell Traylor tried to score from far away in the 33rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Victor Crook had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th match minute, Cumberland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kris Vick to maneuver through the defense. After 46 played minutes Cumberland got a freekick which was hit by Emmanuel Padilla. In the 46th minute, Odell Traylor sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Cumberland's Camille Migneault didn't even have to move.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gérard Puckett was the one to do the kick off. Gérard Puckett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mohammad Thorne got free with Camille Migneault in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gérard Puckett in the 64th minute of play forced Cumberland's goalkeeper Camille Migneault to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Camille Migneault stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mohammad Thorne's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Gérard Puckett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 69 minutes into the match, Cumberland's goalkeeper Camille Migneault had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mohammad Thorne. Gérard Puckett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camille Migneault having to interfere. If Mohammad Thorne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Randolph Courtemanche came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Cumberland's Germain Simard. But to his dismay, Germain Simard quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Cumberland's Camille Migneault played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gérard Puckett in the 81st minute of play. Mohammad Thorne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camille Migneault having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, Cumberland's goal looked a bit too open when Gérard Puckett came free, but Camille Migneault reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Germain Simard got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 94th minute Germain Simard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Randolph Courtemanche saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacques McNair received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Randolph Courtemanche tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. UVIC Vikes played a much better game than Cumberland and deserved their victory. The Cumberland players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
