Spectators: 7983 (Terracing: 5988, Seating: 1836, VIP seats: 159) 8 minutes into the match, Vancouver Blazers's goal looked a bit too open when Désiré Gomes came free, but Clint Bingham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 11 played minutes Bayern Munchen got a freekick which was hit by Baudouin Dodd. Frank Young, 12 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Alberto Ybarra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Hassan Huard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 19 minutes, Benny Ladner mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vancouver Blazers and the Bayern Munchen players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 19th minute of the game. One of Vancouver Blazers:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Bayern Munchen:s goal. The goalkeeper, Clint Bingham, was totally fooled by Bayern Munchen's Jamey Orr, who 20 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 35 minutes into the match, Drew Iverson notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Vancouver Blazers's Clint Bingham. Clint Bingham was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Bayern Munchen's Oswaldo Poisson got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 40th minute Hal Duff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hassan Huard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 43 minutes, Désiré Gomes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bayern Munchen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Désiré Gomes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Désiré Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th match minute, Vancouver Blazers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rupert Orozco to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Rupert Orozco struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Hassan Huard didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vancouver Blazers. 60 minutes into the match, Désiré Gomes notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Vancouver Blazers's Clint Bingham. Clint Bingham was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Drew Iverson struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Clint Bingham didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bayern Munchen. Vancouver Blazers's Clint Bingham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Désiré Gomes in the 67th minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Alberto Ybarra dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hassan Huard, 3-1. If Alberto Ybarra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Drew Iverson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Clint Bingham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st match minute, Vancouver Blazers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benny Ladner to maneuver through the defense. Alberto Ybarra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vancouver Blazers's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
