Carlos Corbett was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Raoul Roberts was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Marcos Bright. When Augustin Gamelin, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 19 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Raoul Roberts was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Augustin Gamelin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanh McGraw recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 39 played minutes Vampires got a freekick which was hit by Milford Bérard. GALATASARAY FC were awarded a corner in the 42th minute after Vampires's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marcos Bright took the corner. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

A collision led to Vampires getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Gregory Robillard hit a great ball. Stacy McClelland made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 56thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Carlos Corbett would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Tommie Costello kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Raoul Roberts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thanh McGraw in the 70th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Vampires's Davis Herring got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 78th minute Augustin Gamelin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raoul Roberts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Augustin Gamelin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Raoul Roberts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, GALATASARAY FC's Carlos Corbett got control of the ball when Stacy McClelland tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 84th minute, Gaétan Boykin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanh McGraw sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Augustin Gamelin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raoul Roberts having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Augustin Gamelin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Raoul Roberts was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1.
