When Kildonan's John Blanchard in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Club Atletico River Plate's goalie prevented a goal. Matthieu Bartley stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of John Blanchard's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Blanchard in the 30th minute of play forced Club Atletico River Plate's goalkeeper Matthieu Bartley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Matthieu Bartley was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Club Atletico River Plate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kildonan the free kick. When the final whistle sounded Kildonan left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Club Atletico River Plate.
