After a defensive mix-up in MTL Impact's zone, Huey Kane stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tracy Bélanger came out of the goal and Huey Kane tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. MTL Impact's Alejandro Spears got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Leland Trejo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leland Trejo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Sheldrake's goalkeeper Eugene Stafford had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jerold Goulet. When George Rogers fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MTL Impact's protests and gave George Rogers a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to MTL Impact getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Alejandro Spears took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Eugene Stafford to make any attempt to save it. Eugene Stafford was out of position in the 66 minute of play, and Jourdain Cullen capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jourdain Cullen really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Sheldrake's Eugene Stafford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jourdain Cullen in the 74th minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Sheldrake's goalkeeper Eugene Stafford had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leland Trejo. Leonardo Pereira struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Tracy Bélanger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal.
