Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) MTL Impact's Leland Trejo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, MTL Impact's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gene Boisvert fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. MTL Impact's Tracy Bélanger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dave Rossignol in the 6th minute of play. Norman Dumas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jourdain Cullen, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. If Leland Trejo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 10th minute, Jourdain Cullen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Norman Dumas was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. MTL Impact's Tracy Bélanger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dave Rossignol in the 15th minute of play. A hard shot by Virgilio ForestLaforest from long distance, 22 minutes into the match, got Tracy Bélanger's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leland Trejo in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Norman Dumas saved Waterloo Warriors from getting behind. 29 minutes into the match, Waterloo Warriors's goal looked a bit too open when Sal Ratté came free, but Norman Dumas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leland Trejo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Norman Dumas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dave Rossignol was the one to do the kick off. Tracy Bélanger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lambert McDermott in the 51st minute of play. 54 minutes into the game, Leland Trejo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Norman Dumas. Leland Trejo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. When Sidney Blackman fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Waterloo Warriors's protests and gave Sidney Blackman a yellow card for diving instead. In the 58th match minute, Waterloo Warriors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sidney Blackman to maneuver through the defense. Waterloo Warriors's Norman Dumas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leland Trejo in the 61st minute of play. Norman Dumas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leland Trejo in the 76th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Leland Trejo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Norman Dumas was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. In the 83rd minute, Dave Rossignol made a precise shot to the right of Tracy Bélanger. MTL Impact's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Leland Trejo succeeded in the game's 92nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-3. MTL Impact played a much better game than Waterloo Warriors and deserved their victory. The Waterloo Warriors players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
