Valère Boles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Jessie Rangel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Trois-Rivières FC's Jason Hay got a free kick in the 15th minute. After some careless play in the Trois-Rivières FC defense, Antonio Moore kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jessie Rangel. The Trois-Rivières FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jessie Rangel should have stopped the shot. Valère Boles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 37 minutes into the match, Trois-Rivières FC's goal looked a bit too open when Valère Boles came free, but Jessie Rangel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute Antonio Moore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jessie Rangel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Trois-Rivières FC's Jessie Rangel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valère Boles in the 43rd minute of play. Jessie Rangel came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Hedley's Antonio Moore. But to his dismay, Antonio Moore quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After 48 played minutes Mickey Picard rounded Hedley's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2. After the first half Hedley were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mickey Picard to make the kick off. Jessie Rangel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valère Boles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Antonio Moore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jessie Rangel having to interfere. If Raymond Bergman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 64 minutes into the game, Merle Griggs was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hedley's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Trois-Rivières FC the free kick. Mickey Picard struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Luther Costello didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Trois-Rivières FC. Antonio Moore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jessie Rangel having to interfere. In the 70thth minute of the game Valère Boles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Trois-Rivières FC's Jessie Rangel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Antonio Moore sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valère Boles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jessie Rangel having to interfere. If Antonio Moore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valère Boles in the 94th minute of play forced Trois-Rivières FC's goalkeeper Jessie Rangel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antonio Moore scored 1-3 in the 97th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jessie Rangel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
