Spectators: 6841 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1841, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Coy Goodwin kicked off to start the match. After having played for 4 minutes, Salvador Jetté managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Connaught's supporters crossed their fingers, but Salvador Jetté was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. François Hooks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Salvador Jetté, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Salvador Jetté had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Salvador Jetté recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Connaught's Salvador Jetté in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ceylon AFC's goalie prevented a goal. 28 minutes into the match, Connaught's goal looked a bit too open when Kim Provencher came free, but Foster Brown reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kim Provencher recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Coy Goodwin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Salvador Jetté recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 35 minutes into the match, Coy Goodwin notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Ceylon AFC's François Hooks. François Hooks was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 38 minutes, Everett Cote mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Connaught and the Ceylon AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Connaught getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Everett Cote hit a great ball. After having played for 39 minutes, Bruno Epperson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ceylon AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruno Epperson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kim Provencher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Foster Brown having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 43rd minute by Bruno Epperson got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Bruno Epperson came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Ceylon AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruno Epperson couldn't finish the play. Foster Brown made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bruno Epperson in the 48th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kim Provencher was the one to do the kick off. François Hooks made an important save on a dangerous shot by Salvador Jetté in the 53rd minute. Salvador Jetté sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 63 minutes, Bruno Epperson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. François Hooks made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Coy Goodwin in the 65th minute of play. Bruno Epperson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Foster Brown tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kim Provencher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd match minute, Connaught was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Veilleux to maneuver through the defense. Kenneth Eddy kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Bruno Epperson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Coy Goodwin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Salvador Jetté received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. François Hooks tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jorge Lind struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. François Hooks didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Connaught. François Hooks made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Salvador Jetté sent off a good shot on target. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ceylon AFC's goalkeeper François Hooks, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Ceylon AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Connaught's performance. The match ended with a win for Connaught.
