Fabien Grove recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 32nd match minute, FC Val da was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Shayne Giles to maneuver through the defense. Monroe Hanley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute, Glen Buchanan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gino Fontaine was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Zane Jarvis made the kick off in the second half. Zane Jarvis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gino Fontaine having to interfere. In the 60th match minute, Orangeville SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iréné Sheridan to maneuver through the defense. Kelly Dodson charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kelly Dodson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Orangeville SC booed when FC Val da was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kelly Dodson didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Darius Martin fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Val da's protests and gave Darius Martin a yellow card for diving instead. In the 69th minute, Darius Martin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Monroe Hanley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Monroe Hanley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jamaal Manley hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. After having played for 89 minutes, Zane Jarvis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Val da's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zane Jarvis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Glen Buchanan was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 90th minute. FC Val da's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Gino Fontaine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zane Jarvis in the 94th minute of play. Gino Fontaine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zane Jarvis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 96 minutes into the game, Fabien Grove was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Orangeville SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Val da the free kick. Glen Buchanan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gino Fontaine having to make a save.
