Léandre McDonald hit a great ball. 29 minutes into the match, DOE FC's goal looked a bit too open when Val Lester came free, but Léopold Crain reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Léandre McDonald had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Telesphore Anthony. Halifax Royals's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Léandre McDonald was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 41 played minutes Halifax Royals got a freekick which was hit by Clifford Corbeil. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Brain Romano managed to get in a good position for a shot. DOE FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Brain Romano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Telesphore Anthony breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 47th minute, Franklyn Courcelle made a precise shot to the right of Telesphore Anthony. Halifax Royals's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After the first half DOE FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Val Lester to make the kick off. Brain Romano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Léopold Crain took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Val Lester, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute, Brain Romano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kirk Hirsch in the 73rd minute of play forced DOE FC's goalkeeper Léopold Crain to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Franklyn Courcelle got free with Telesphore Anthony in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 85th minute of the match Hervé Callahan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Telesphore Anthony showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 88thth minute of the game Brain Romano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Halifax Royals's Telesphore Anthony was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When DOE FC's Brain Romano in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Halifax Royals's goalie prevented a goal. The audience was convinced that Kirk Hirsch's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Léopold Crain was relentless in the 96th minute of the game.
