CFR Sibiu's Cristo Nofre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lott in the 6th minute of play. In the 7th minute Luca Dănilă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garrett Gladu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to C.S.M. Luca Dănilă did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-2 to the left of a surprised Garrett Gladu 52 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as CFR Sibiu's Costel Novăceanu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Garrett Gladu. That made the score 0-3 after 55 minutes of play. Costel Novăceanu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Garrett Gladu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Garrett Gladu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Dănilă in the 60th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Costel Novăceanu in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Garrett Gladu saved C.S.M. Resita from getting behind. In the 65th minute Quincy Cahill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristo Nofre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. CFR Sibiu's Cristo Nofre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Quincy Cahill in the 71st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Costel Novăceanu in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Garrett Gladu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lorenzo Ott hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. After having played for 75 minutes, Hipólito Zambujal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CFR Sibiu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hipólito Zambujal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 78th minute, Chong Lamontagne hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79th minute Hipólito Zambujal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garrett Gladu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hipólito Zambujal was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 81st minute. CFR Sibiu's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The supporters of CFR Sibiu booed when C.S.M. Resita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juliusz Szostak didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 86 in the game by Costel Novăceanu from a close distance when the talented Garrett Gladu managed to make a qualified save. C.S.M. Resita's players were relieved. Lorenzo Ott charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
