Édouard Bacon hit a great ball. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Fenerbahçe S.K.'s Xiao Yun Jun in the 21st minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Sven Van Ghele was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Club Atlético Lanús through an amazing save. Sven Van Ghele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Qiao Qi Bo, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Sven Van Ghele showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Qiao Qi Bo in the 30th minute of the match. In the 35th minute Xiao Yun Jun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven Van Ghele saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Qiao Qi Bo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fenerbahçe S.K.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Qiao Qi Bo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
