In the 4th minute of the match, Oskarbi Abancens tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Naike Abalos saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The audience was convinced that Juan Funes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gonzalo Berdugo was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Gonzalo Berdugo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Endura Abechuco in the 8th minute of play. Gonzalo Berdugo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gonzalo Berdugo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Endura Abechuco in the 21st minute of the match. Sporting Cristal's Gonzalo Berdugo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Endura Abechuco in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting Cristal's goalkeeper Gonzalo Berdugo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fernando Abar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Naike Abalos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Endura Abechuco in the 34th minute of play forced Sporting Cristal's goalkeeper Gonzalo Berdugo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 36 played minutes Sporting Cristal got a freekick which was hit by Oskarbi Abancens. The supporters of River CBBA booed when Sporting Cristal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacob Abarca didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Juan Funes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gonzalo Berdugo was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Gonzalo Berdugo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano Abechuco in the 43rd minute of play. Juan Funes took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gonzalo Berdugo. Gonzalo Berdugo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2.

In the 51st minute Juan Funes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonzalo Berdugo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sporting Cristal's Gonzalo Berdugo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergio Batista in the 54th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in River CBBA's zone, Fernando Abar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Naike Abalos came out of the goal and Fernando Abar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Abar in the 61st minute of play forced River CBBA's goalkeeper Naike Abalos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 64 minutes into the game, Juan Funes lined in a short shot 0-3 behind a frustrated Gonzalo Berdugo. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sporting Cristal's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sergio Batista was slow to take the kick. During this time River CBBA's players had a chance to rest. The corner led River CBBA's Juan Funes to fire away a dangerous shot which Gonzalo Berdugo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. River CBBA were awarded a corner in the 73th minute after Sporting Cristal's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sergio Batista took the corner. In the 79th match minute, Sporting Cristal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacob Abarca to maneuver through the defense. River CBBA's Ponciano Abarca was substituted for Juan Funes. In the 83rd minute of the match River CBBA got a corner. Sporting Cristal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sergio Batista ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 86th minute, Sedeni Abellaneda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ponciano Abarca could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Gonzalo Berdugo made a huge save. After 90 minutes of play, River CBBA's Endura Abechuco made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gonzalo Berdugo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gonzalo Berdugo came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by River CBBA's Ponciano Abarca. But to his dismay, Ponciano Abarca quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. River CBBA's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
