Ferdinand Lerma showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egoi Ponga, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. When the match clock showed 16 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Egoi Ponga sped through Pablothinaikos's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ferdinand Lerma. Egoi Ponga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferdinand Lerma having to interfere. Ferdinand Lerma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Egoi Ponga in the 25th minute of the match. Ferdinand Lerma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Egoi Ponga in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute Tomas Izmendi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ferdinand Lerma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 40 minutes, Egoi Ponga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carpinteria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Egoi Ponga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Egoi Ponga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Pablothinaikos booed when Carpinteria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amancio Cortiguera didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute of the match Aldo Garzona shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fresco Vicioso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Egoi Ponga let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 90th minute shot 2-3 at rihgt post. In the 93rd minute, Egoi Ponga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Medardo Avina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Fresco Vicioso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carpinteria played a much better game than Pablothinaikos and deserved their victory. The Pablothinaikos players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
