The supporters of progreso booed when Melo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Urbez Bermudo didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremy Alcolea in the 16th minute of play forced Melo's goalkeeper Gizon Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the match, progreso's goalkeeper Rius Munis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erauso Carmeneses. Betadur Bugarin struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Gizon Matos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for progreso. In the 28th minute Elvio Nogro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gizon Matos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Elvio Nogro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melo's Gizon Matos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elvio Nogro in the 33rd minute of play. Medero Fonelleda's late challenge caught a progreso's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Medero Fonelleda helped the player get up and apologised. In the 34th match minute, Melo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Medero Fonelleda to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, progreso's Rius Munis got control of the ball when Erauso Carmeneses tried to sneak it across the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Elvio Nogro was the one to do the kick off. Gizon Matos made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Betadur Bugarin sent off a good shot on target. 59 minutes into the game, Melo's Josias Argandona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rius Munis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Rius Munis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erauso Carmeneses, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Erauso Carmeneses had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Josias Argandona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rius Munis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Elvio Nogro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd minute, Betadur Bugarin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gizon Matos was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. With a little luck, Melo's Gizon Matos got control of the ball when Betadur Bugarin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Betadur Bugarin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
