After 10 played minutes Nicunihue Futbol Clú got a freekick which was hit by Melih Ağyar. In the 11th minute of the match Leonardo Villaluenga shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hermogenes Hernández showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Santio Palomeque blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pepito Alves having to make a save. Loi Mendiune received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Pepito Alves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 19 minutes into the game, Enetz Feijoo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aldecoa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nicunihue Futbol Clú the free kick. The supporters of Nicunihue Futbol Clú booed when Aldecoa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enetz Feijoo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Quirze Cospedal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hermogenes Hernández read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Hermogenes Hernández took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xosepin Campusano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Aldecoa's goalkeeper Pepito Alves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Enetz Feijoo was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 30 minutes had been played. A collision led to Aldecoa getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Enetz Feijoo hit a great ball. With a little luck, Aldecoa's Pepito Alves got control of the ball when Loi Mendiune tried to sneak it across the goal line. Loi Mendiune's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Pepito Alves skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The nice shot from Loi Mendiune in the 37thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Pepito Alves had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. With a little luck, Aldecoa's Pepito Alves got control of the ball when Loi Mendiune tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 40thth minute of the game Alberto Spencer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Aldecoa's Pepito Alves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 41st minute, Loi Mendiune hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Odilon Cañellas fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nicunihue Futbol Clú's protests and gave Odilon Cañellas a yellow card for diving instead. 47 minutes into the match, Xosepin Campusano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hermogenes Hernández. Nicunihue Futbol Clú's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Xosepin Campusano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After the first half Aldecoa were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Loi Mendiune made a kick off. Loi Mendiune struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Pepito Alves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nicunihue Futbol Clú. Pepito Alves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Loi Mendiune, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Nicunihue Futbol Clú's Alberto Spencer got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alberto Spencer in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pepito Alves saved Aldecoa from getting behind. Loi Mendiune fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pepito Alves having to interfere. When Loi Mendiune, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 72 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Pepito Alves was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Pepito Alves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Spencer, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 83rd minute, Alberto Spencer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pepito Alves was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Pepito Alves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Loi Mendiune, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Loi Mendiune in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pepito Alves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Loi Mendiune blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pepito Alves having to make a save. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Nicunihue Futbol Clú players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
