Spectators: 5725 (Terracing: 4500, Seating: 1200, VIP seats: 25) Paysandú FCU's Urdin Burgoa started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eneko Edeon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geofredo Castropan in the 2nd minute of play. Paysandú FCU's Eneko Edeon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Paysandú FCU from getting a goal against them. In the 14th minute Elequemedo Villamil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eneko Edeon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the game, Elequemedo Villamil lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Eneko Edeon. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Urdin Burgoa in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ernesto Ter prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 19 minutes into the game, Saturnino Velasquez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paysandú FCU's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hombres de negro the free kick. With a little luck, Paysandú FCU's Eneko Edeon got control of the ball when Franco Alfonso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Urdin Burgoa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 43 played minutes Hombres de negro got a freekick which was hit by Frasco Moroño. Franco Alfonso received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Eneko Edeon came out and tried to block the shot, but Franco Alfonso slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 47th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elequemedo Villamil made a kick off. Ponce Ajorbe charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ponce Ajorbe the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 52 played minutes Hombres de negro got a freekick which was hit by Ponce Ajorbe. Lapurdi Cerdeño hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Eneko Edeon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elequemedo Villamil in the 66th minute of play. Eneko Edeon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Solustiano Oces, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Eneko Edeon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Solustiano Oces, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 80 minutes into the match, Elequemedo Villamil had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eneko Edeon. Paysandú FCU's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elequemedo Villamil was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Elequemedo Villamil struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Eneko Edeon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hombres de negro. The audience was convinced that Urdin Burgoa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ernesto Ter was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. In the 88th match minute, Hombres de negro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geofredo Castropan to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Paysandú FCU's Napier Puget got a free kick in the 89th minute. 95 minutes into the match, Hombres de negro's goal looked a bit too open when Urdin Burgoa came free, but Ernesto Ter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Urdin Burgoa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 98th minute of the match, but Ernesto Ter made a huge save.
