After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Archibaldo Calvetti managed to get in a good position for a shot. Universidad de Chile's supporters rose to their feet, but Archibaldo Calvetti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roldán Pantoja breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Archibaldo Calvetti who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 10thth minute tested the skills of Roldán Pantoja when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Reynaldo Apaulaza fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Washimingos's protests and gave Reynaldo Apaulaza a yellow card for diving instead. Reynaldo Apaulaza kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Alexis Buzeta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roldán Pantoja was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adriano Devoto to make the kick off. Jordi Srain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adriano Devoto in the 54th minute of play. When Adriano Devoto came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Washimingos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adriano Devoto couldn't finish the play. 61 minutes into the match, Universidad de Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Devoto came free, but Jordi Srain reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It was a penalty for Washimingos! Roldán Pantoja had in the 98thth minute some difficulties stopping Washington Lois's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Washimingos players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Universidad de Chile.
