When Alcadio Alister fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chonchi AFC's protests and gave Alcadio Alister a yellow card for diving instead. Alcadio Alister kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 10th minute of the match Rufino Zunino shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zarpas Frost showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Luis María Ovalle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Gaston Canavesio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Esequiel Masson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luis María Ovalle who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 22ndth minute tested the skills of Gaston Canavesio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 25 minutes, Topocho Alister mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chanar FC and the Chonchi AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 25 played minutes Chanar FC got a freekick which was hit by Topocho Alister. 34 minutes into the match, Chanar FC's goal looked a bit too open when Esequiel Masson came free, but Gaston Canavesio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Esequiel Masson to make the kick off. Zarpas Frost made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eriberto Robledo in the 58th minute of play. If Eriberto Robledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gaston Canavesio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Esequiel Masson in the 62nd minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Luis María Ovalle made a precise shot to the right of Gaston Canavesio. Chanar FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Gaston Canavesio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis María Ovalle in the 67th minute of the match. Chanar FC's Sergio Ramírez got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 82nd minute, Luis María Ovalle made a precise shot to the right of Gaston Canavesio. Chanar FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. In the 87th minute, Chanar FC's Eriberto Robledo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-2. Eriberto Robledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eriberto Robledo struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Zarpas Frost didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chanar FC. After 96 played minutes Chonchi AFC got a freekick which was hit by Alcadio Alister. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Chonchi AFC had won after a very even match.
