Benjamín Hormazabal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vincente Frey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Islita FC's Patxi Ferari got a free kick in the 11th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Caraguano's Patxi Guerrero tried to score from far away in the 12th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 17th minute, one of Caraguano:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Caraguano. Alarico Bórquez had in the 18thth minute some difficulties stopping Aureo Trujillo's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Prudentio Cabañas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Benjamín Hormazabal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Islita FC's Gilberto Pozo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Prudentio Cabañas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 30 minutes into the game, Jimeno Bishara was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Islita FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caraguano the free kick. Caraguano's Prudentio Cabañas got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 42 minutes into the match, Caraguano's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Pozo came free, but Alarico Bórquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vincente Frey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Benjamín Hormazabal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Liberto Vigil in the 45th minute of the match. Prudentio Cabañas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gilberto Pozo to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Islita FC's goalkeeper Benjamín Hormazabal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vincente Frey. Alarico Bórquez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilberto Pozo in the 58th minute of the match. Alarico Bórquez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amadeo Illanes in the 59th minute of play. Vincente Frey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Benjamín Hormazabal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Amadeo Illanes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benjamín Hormazabal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prudentio Cabañas, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Benjamín Hormazabal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Prudentio Cabañas in the 70th minute of play. Amadeo Illanes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Islita FC booed when Caraguano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Liberto Vigil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alarico Bórquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Pozo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Gilberto Pozo came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Islita FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilberto Pozo couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Prudentio Cabañas in the 90th minute of play forced Islita FC's goalkeeper Benjamín Hormazabal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Caraguano's Alarico Bórquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilberto Pozo in the 93rd minute of play.
