Manuel Antonio Villagrán showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan María Koch, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 13 minutes into the match, Juan María Koch notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Hospital's Manuel Antonio Villagrán. Manuel Antonio Villagrán was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Baldomiro Ipinza came free with the goalkeeper in the 21st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Manuel Antonio Villagrán could save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan María Koch in the 22nd minute of play forced Hospital's goalkeeper Manuel Antonio Villagrán to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. VILLANUEVA FC's Baldomiro Ipinza got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mikel Monsalve kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Manuel Antonio Villagrán made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan María Koch in the 26th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Juan Cristóbal Marholz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 35 minutes of play, Hospital's Juan Cristóbal Marholz made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Disvandis Phillips was left in no man's land by his defense there! During the 39th minute of the match Mikel Monsalve completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Mikel Monsalve a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Baldomiro Ipinza who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 48thth minute tested the skills of Manuel Antonio Villagrán when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abelardo Achondo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Hospital's goal looked a bit too open when Baldomiro Ipinza came free, but Manuel Antonio Villagrán reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Juan María Koch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baldomiro Ipinza might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Manuel Antonio Villagrán. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Baldomiro Ipinza ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baldomiro Ipinza in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manuel Antonio Villagrán saved Hospital from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Baldomiro Ipinza's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Manuel Antonio Villagrán was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Disvandis Phillips was out of position in the 69 minute of play, and Juan Cristóbal Marholz capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Juan Cristóbal Marholz really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. After a rather tough play, VILLANUEVA FC's Alexis Alcayaga got a free kick in the 71st minute. The VILLANUEVA FC fans' excitement grew in the 77th match minute when VILLANUEVA FC's Baldomiro Ipinza looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a little luck, VILLANUEVA FC's Disvandis Phillips got control of the ball when Abelardo Achondo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 84thth minute of the game Baldomiro Ipinza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hospital's Manuel Antonio Villagrán was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 87 minutes into the game, when Alexis Alcayaga put in a rough tackle. In the 87th match minute, VILLANUEVA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexis Alcayaga to maneuver through the defense. Juan Cristóbal Marholz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Disvandis Phillips made a huge save. Juan María Koch recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Manuel Antonio Villagrán made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Salvador Knauer in the 95th minute of play.
