Vincente Biggs kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. When Samuel Jáuregui came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Huenaliben fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Samuel Jáuregui couldn't finish the play. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sagbara AFC reached it. If Heinz Sieben had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Viktor De Hertoghe hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Huenaliben's Samuel Jáuregui got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Huenaliben's goalkeeper Simón Infantas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 44 played minutes Huenaliben got a freekick which was hit by Nereo Adaos. Elodio Bulnes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Simón Infantas. Huenaliben's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Orostegui to strike the kick off in the second half. Xulián Davis charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Xulián Davis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Xulián Davis hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Fernando Urquieta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Modestio Badilla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Renato Cavareda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play.
