When Silvestre Fehrman came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Universidad Catolica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silvestre Fehrman couldn't finish the play. 9 minutes into the match, Huenaliben's goal looked a bit too open when Ruesga Carter came free, but Simón Infantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Huenaliben booed when Universidad Catolica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruesga Carter didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Samuel Jáuregui put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Arturo Pedraza. Simón Infantas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruesga Carter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Silvestre Fehrman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Samuel Jáuregui received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Arturo Pedraza came out and tried to block the shot, but Samuel Jáuregui slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 21st minute. Samuel Jáuregui succeeded in the game's 24th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-0. Arturo Pedraza was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Samuel Jáuregui capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Samuel Jáuregui really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fernando Urquieta during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Heinz Sieben fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arturo Pedraza having to interfere. Alarico Campino hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ruesga Carter made a kick off. Universidad Catolica were furious when Ludovico Escerza was red carded, 56 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 55 minutes into the game, one of Universidad Catolica:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Arturo Pedraza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Jáuregui, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Heinz Sieben's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arturo Pedraza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Silvestre Fehrman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Heinz Sieben's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arturo Pedraza was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Arturo Pedraza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nereo Adaos in the 76th minute of play. In the 78th minute, Jose Esteban Píriz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 79th minute Samuel Jáuregui shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Pedraza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 86 minutes, the score became 8-0 when Samuel Jáuregui sped through Universidad Catolica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Arturo Pedraza. Nereo Adaos took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 90th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Arturo Pedraza. Universidad Catolica's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Arturo Pedraza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Samuel Jáuregui went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 9-0 was the resulting score. 98 minutes into the match, Universidad Catolica's goal looked a bit too open when Heinz Sieben came free, but Arturo Pedraza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Huenaliben had played much better football throughout.
