The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Haroldo Larrauna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Rodolfo Fonseca blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lorencio Estay having to make a save. 13 minutes into the match, Ayaviri's goal looked a bit too open when Haroldo Larrauna came free, but Lorencio Estay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15thth minute of the game Rodolfo Fonseca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ayaviri's Lorencio Estay was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ayaviri's Patricio Bolton got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Tuna Talcahuano booed when Ayaviri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manu Salazar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Haroldo Larrauna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lorencio Estay having to interfere. Patricio Bolton might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Milián Viel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Patricio Bolton ran back to his position shaking his head. Milián Viel made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Yeray Asenjo sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Ayaviri getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Eder Mac Leay hit a great ball. Milián Viel was out of position in the 45 minute of play, and Manu Salazar capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Manu Salazar really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rodolfo Fonseca made a kick off. Ayaviri's Lorencio Estay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Fonseca in the 52nd minute of play. Lorencio Estay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 56 minutes into the game, Haroldo Larrauna recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lorencio Estay. Haroldo Larrauna showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Milián Viel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yeray Asenjo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Haroldo Larrauna made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 62ndth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Lorencio Estay would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Rodolfo Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Lorencio Estay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Manu Salazar fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Fonseca in the 67th minute of play forced Ayaviri's goalkeeper Lorencio Estay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Godofredo Grove had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd match minute, Ayaviri was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeo Aravena to maneuver through the defense. Rodolfo Fonseca struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Lorencio Estay didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tuna Talcahuano. 79 minutes into the game, Patricio Bolton cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Milián Viel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The attack was good, but when Patricio Bolton in the 82nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Milián Viel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Bolton, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. After a rather tough play, Ayaviri's Yeray Asenjo got a free kick in the 85th minute. The supporters of Ayaviri booed when Tuna Talcahuano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quintén Trouve didn't get a good kick on the ball.
