Manuelo Garmendia's late challenge caught a Alqui's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manuelo Garmendia helped the player get up and apologised. Manuelo Garmendia hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 15th minute Maximino Urquieta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Milián Viel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Alqui's Emiliano Rufo got control of the ball when Rodolfo Fonseca tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rolando Encalada's late challenge caught a Tuna Talcahuano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rolando Encalada helped the player get up and apologised. After 20 played minutes Alqui got a freekick which was hit by Xabel Jarabran. After having played for 22 minutes, Quintén Trouve managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tuna Talcahuano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Quintén Trouve was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Tuna Talcahuano's Manuelo Garmendia got a free kick in the 23rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Rodolfo Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tuna Talcahuano's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodolfo Fonseca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emiliano Rufo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 27 minutes, Xabel Jarabran mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alqui and the Tuna Talcahuano players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Maximino Urquieta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute Rodolfo Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emiliano Rufo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tuna Talcahuano's Milián Viel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximino Urquieta in the 37th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Tuna Talcahuano's Rodolfo Fonseca slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Emiliano Rufo. That made the score 1-0 after 39 minutes of play. A collision led to Alqui getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Rolando Encalada hit a great ball. In the 45th minute Narcís Necochea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Milián Viel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Milián Viel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximino Urquieta, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rodolfo Fonseca to strike the kick off in the second half. Rolando Encalada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Milián Viel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tuna Talcahuano's Milián Viel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximino Urquieta in the 56th minute of play. Maximino Urquieta spun around in front of the goal 57 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Tuna Talcahuano's goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Quintén Trouve during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 59th minute, Quintén Trouve hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximino Urquieta in the 65th minute of play forced Tuna Talcahuano's goalkeeper Milián Viel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 69 played minutes Tuna Talcahuano got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldo Latorre. When Tuna Talcahuano's Rodolfo Fonseca in 73 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Emiliano Rufo guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. 76 minutes into the match, Tuna Talcahuano's goalkeeper Milián Viel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miguel Ángel Vidma. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximino Urquieta in the 81st minute of play forced Tuna Talcahuano's goalkeeper Milián Viel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miguel Ángel Vidma could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Milián Viel made a huge save. Narcís Necochea struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Milián Viel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alqui. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maximino Urquieta in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Milián Viel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Tuna Talcahuano were victorious despite being under pressure from Alqui for much of the match.
