Máximo Faure made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Ángel Acle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Karlos Mota tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 10 minutes into the match, Salvatore Ardizzoni dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Máximo Faure, 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Calixto Martel in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Karlos Mota saved FC Zulia from getting behind. When Chelin's Calixto Martel in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Zulia's goalie prevented a goal. Salvatore Ardizzoni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Máximo Faure having to interfere. In the 22ndth minute of the game Calixto Martel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Zulia's Karlos Mota was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 29 played minutes Chelin got a freekick which was hit by Ubaldo Matildo Dietert. The supporters of FC Zulia booed when Chelin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ubaldo Matildo Dietert didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Xaime Irisarri came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the FC Zulia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xaime Irisarri couldn't finish the play. Heliodoro Uriondo charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Heliodoro Uriondo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to FC Zulia getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Heliodoro Uriondo hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Ángel Acle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karlos Mota having to interfere. Máximo Faure made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Salvatore Ardizzoni in the 54th minute of play. Karlos Mota made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ángel Acle in the 57th minute. Máximo Faure showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Heliodoro Uriondo, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After 63 minutes, Mario Ralph mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Zulia and the Chelin players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 70th match minute, FC Zulia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roland Isasa to maneuver through the defense. FC Zulia made a substitution. Ruyman Lea replaced Santiago Ebensperger. Roland Isasa hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. A collision led to FC Zulia getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. In the 88th minute, Salvatore Ardizzoni ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Máximo Faure was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Mario Ralph was shown his second yellow card after 91 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Mario Ralph kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Marciano Paez charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marciano Paez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 96 played minutes Chelin got a freekick which was hit by Marciano Paez. FC Zulia's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
