Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Salvatore Ardizzoni started the match with the kick off. After 3 played minutes Juampi Coparao FC got a freekick which was hit by Fidel La Motte. 5 minutes into the game, FC Zulia's Salvatore Ardizzoni nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Geofredo Larraona made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Salvatore Ardizzoni's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Geofredo Larraona read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. If Mario Ralph had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Zulia were furious when Jon-Ander Quintupil was red carded, 13 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 12 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Zulia! After 17 minutes, Fidel La Motte mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Juampi Coparao FC and the FC Zulia players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Juampi Coparao FC's Fidel La Motte got a free kick in the 17th minute. Mario Ralph received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Geofredo Larraona tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Omar Troncoso scored 2-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Karlos Mota, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Juampi Coparao FC's Mariano Valderas in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. It was a penalty for Juampi Coparao FC! In the 39th minute there was a penalty for FC Zulia. Xaime Irisarri stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Geofredo Larraona. 2-2. A hard shot 43 in the game by Fidel La Motte from a close distance when the talented Karlos Mota managed to make a qualified save. FC Zulia's players were relieved. A sloppy throw-in by Albin Davalos in the 46th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by FC Zulia's Xaime Irisarri. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When Heliodoro Uriondo came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the FC Zulia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Heliodoro Uriondo couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Juampi Coparao FC's zone, Heliodoro Uriondo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geofredo Larraona came out of the goal and Heliodoro Uriondo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. FC Zulia's Xaime Irisarri managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Albin Davalos in the 61 minute of the game. With a little luck, Juampi Coparao FC's Geofredo Larraona got control of the ball when Mario Ralph tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Heliodoro Uriondo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th match minute, FC Zulia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mario Ralph to maneuver through the defense. Heliodoro Uriondo might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Geofredo Larraona. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Heliodoro Uriondo ran back to his position shaking his head. If Mario Ralph had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geofredo Larraona made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heliodoro Uriondo in the 76th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Heliodoro Uriondo managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Zulia's supporters rose to their feet, but Heliodoro Uriondo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geofredo Larraona breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mario Ralph received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Geofredo Larraona tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the FC Zulia players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
