FC Zulia's Karlos Mota proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save FC Zulia from getting a goal against them. In the 45th minute, Lolo Bolivar reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Karlos Mota. The goal made the score 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 82ndth minute of the game Adriel Mascayo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Zulia's Karlos Mota was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 94 played minutes, Araucampeón Retirado's Felipo Fett shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Karlos Mota came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Araucampeón Retirado reached it. If Lolo Ibarguen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute.
