Spectators: 8805 (Terracing: 6500, Seating: 2122, VIP seats: 183) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rubén Martínez started the match with the kick off. In the 6th minute of the match, Rubén Martínez got a very nice opportunity to score, but Claudio Bravo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Rubén Martínez took the ball and in the 7 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Claudio Bravo. Claudio Bravo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Deporte Provincial Osorno's Claudio Bravo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Deporte Provincial Osorno from getting a goal against them. In the 18th minute, one of Deporte Provincial Osorno:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Deporte Provincial Osorno. When the match had been going on for 19 minutes, Colo-Colo's Patrício Yáñez got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Claudio Bravo. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rubén Martínez in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Claudio Bravo saved Deporte Provincial Osorno from getting behind. Luís Gustavo Mangueira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rambo Ramírez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. 35 minutes into the game, Rolando Jelves threw the ball into play from the sideline. Colo-Colo's Lalo Vilchez quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Rubén Martínez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colo-Colo's supporters rose to their feet, but Rubén Martínez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudio Bravo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rubén Martínez did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 4-0 to the left of a surprised Claudio Bravo 45 minutes into the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luís Gustavo Mangueira made a kick off. Deporte Provincial Osorno's Luís Gustavo Mangueira got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Deporte Provincial Osorno booed when Colo-Colo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rubén Martínez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rambo Ramírez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gerardo Ostots in the 83rd minute. Deporte Provincial Osorno made a substitution. Bermejo Darrigrande replaced Luís Gustavo Mangueira. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Jerzy Smolak managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colo-Colo's supporters rose to their feet, but Jerzy Smolak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudio Bravo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Colo-Colo were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Deporte Provincial Osorno for a fine match.
