Spectators: 6000 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the match, Expresso da Gama's goal looked a bit too open when Wilian Lira came free, but Zé Branco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 3 played minutes Expresso da Gama got a freekick which was hit by Gilberto de Andrade. In the 5th minute, Elói Magalhães had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Olívio Tróia during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Macedônia FC's Jardel Gonçalves was substituted for Elói Magalhães. A collision led to Expresso da Gama getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Olívio Tróia hit a great ball. Macedônia FC's Wilian Lira got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Macedônia FC's Laércio Tróia got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Expresso da Gama booed when Macedônia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilian Lira didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 24 minutes, Beto Corrêa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Expresso da Gama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Beto Corrêa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With his leg Zé Branco managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Macedônia FC's Wilian Lira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laércio Tróia in the 27th minute of play forced Expresso da Gama's goalkeeper Zé Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Laércio Tróia hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Expresso da Gama's Zé Branco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilian Lira in the 38th minute of play. Gustavo Guedes hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Mauro Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Zé Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Gilberto de Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wilian Lira to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Wilian Lira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zé Branco was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Zé Branco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 59 minutes of play, Macedônia FC's Laércio Tróia made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zé Branco was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Wilian Lira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Wilian Lira came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Macedônia FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilian Lira couldn't finish the play. In the 66th minute, Gustavo Guedes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Wilian Lira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Zé Branco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilian Lira in the 72nd minute of the match. Wilian Lira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adriano de Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Zé Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Macedônia FC's Wilian Lira in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Expresso da Gama's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wilian Lira in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zé Branco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Macedônia FC's Gualter Mendonça got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adriano de Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Zé Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilian Lira in the 84th minute of play forced Expresso da Gama's goalkeeper Zé Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Laércio Tróia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Zé Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zé Branco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wilian Lira's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. Zé Branco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilian Lira in the 88th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wilian Lira in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zé Branco saved Expresso da Gama from getting behind. In the 92nd minute Olívio Tróia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roger Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilian Lira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Macedônia FC's Adriano de Queirós got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 96 played minutes Expresso da Gama got a freekick which was hit by Zé Roberto Simão. There was no doubt that Macedônia FC were the better team. Macedônia FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
