In the 2nd minute, Wilton Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 4 played minutes Jacare got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo Castro. Duda Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Ernesto Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Duda Silva in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ernesto Toledo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jacare's Walmyr Araújo got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 25th minute Walmyr Araújo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emerson Soeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Duda Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacare's Ernesto Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duda Silva in the 29th minute of play. Emerson Soeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walmyr Araújo in the 31st minute of the match. When Duda Silva came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Taboleri fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Duda Silva couldn't finish the play. Elias Penha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmyr Araújo in the 39th minute of play forced Taboleri's goalkeeper Emerson Soeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manfredo Soeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Toledo having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Walmyr Araújo to make the kick off. Duda Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacare's Elias Penha got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Taboleri booed when Jacare was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gonçalo Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Jacare fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when Jacare's Elias Penha looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in Jacare's zone, Manfredo Soeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernesto Toledo came out of the goal and Manfredo Soeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duda Silva in the 83rd minute of play forced Jacare's goalkeeper Ernesto Toledo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Taboleri's Emerson Soeiro got control of the ball when Elias Penha tried to sneak it across the goal line. Serginho Bertassi took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 93rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ernesto Toledo. Jacare's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jacare's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
