Nico Maciel struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Gilson Ferraz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pore SC. Eurico Berger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Frédson Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Poloni's supporters rose to their feet, but Frédson Lara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arlindo Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Pore SC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Willian Vidal hit a great ball. Eurico Bergers short, quick shot in the 20thth minute got Arlindo Queirós to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Frédson Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arlindo Queirós having to interfere. In the 22nd match minute, Pore SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonso Alves to maneuver through the defense. Arlindo Queirós made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Eurico Berger sent off a good shot on target. Pore SC's Arlindo Queirós proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Pore SC from getting a goal against them. Eurico Berger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arlindo Queirós having to interfere. In the 33rdth minute of the game Nico Maciel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Poloni's Gilson Ferraz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Poloni's zone, Duarte Lago stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilson Ferraz came out of the goal and Duarte Lago tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Frédson Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Arlindo Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, Pore SC's goalkeeper Arlindo Queirós had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eurico Berger. Frédson Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arlindo Queirós having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Pore SC's zone, Eurico Berger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arlindo Queirós came out of the goal and Eurico Berger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 45 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Frédson Lara sped through Pore SC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Arlindo Queirós. In the 48th minute, Agostinho Palmeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nico Maciel was the one to do the kick off. Poloni's Eurico Berger got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frédson Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arlindo Queirós having to interfere. Arlindo Queirós stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hermínio Schmidt's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. 86 minutes into the game, Nico Maciel lined in a short shot 1-2 behind a frustrated Gilson Ferraz. Nico Maciel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilson Ferraz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. In the 92ndth minute of the game Nico Maciel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Poloni's Gilson Ferraz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When João Paulo Baptista fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Poloni's protests and gave João Paulo Baptista a yellow card for diving instead. Gilson Ferraz made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Duarte Lago sent off a good shot on target. Eurico Berger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Arlindo Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Poloni manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Pore SC to win.
