Perivaldo Faustino was extremely unlucky when he, in the 18th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 22 minutes into the game, Perivaldo Faustino lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Yuri Sergipano. After a rather tough play, Arruda's Valdemar Ramalho got a free kick in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Perivaldo Faustino in the 27th minute of play forced Arruda's goalkeeper Yuri Sergipano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Arruda's Aníbal Maranhense sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rogério Quirino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Aníbal Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arruda's Yuri Sergipano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Arruda from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Garibe SS's zone, Aníbal Maranhense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rogério Quirino came out of the goal and Aníbal Maranhense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reinaldo Teixeira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rogério Quirino having to make a save. Rogério Quirino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aníbal Maranhense, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Valdemar Ramalho kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. In the 41st match minute, Arruda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Faustão Branco to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute, Reinaldo Teixeira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Arruda fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Rogério Quirino was a little too slow when Aníbal Maranhense got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 1-2. In the 55th minute of the match Angelo Penha shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Yuri Sergipano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Perivaldo Faustino blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Yuri Sergipano having to make a save. Yuri Sergipano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rodrigo Cearense went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Garibe SS's Waldir Campidelis got a free kick in the 61st minute. Rogério Quirino came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Arruda's Reinaldo Teixeira. But to his dismay, Reinaldo Teixeira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Rogério Quirino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aníbal Maranhense, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 67th match minute, Garibe SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edson Tinoco to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Garibe SS's Rogério Quirino got control of the ball when Reinaldo Teixeira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rodrigo Cearense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Yuri Sergipano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rogério Quirino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reinaldo Teixeira in the 75th minute. Sidney Leão charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sidney Leão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Jacinto Azevedo fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arruda's protests and gave Jacinto Azevedo a yellow card for diving instead. Perivaldo Faustino scored 3-3 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Yuri Sergipano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
