After 13 played minutes Murilo Silveira rounded Nunes F.C.'s defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. 16 minutes into the match, Nunes F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Murilo Silveira came free, but Tomé Barbosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maquine's Norberto Lira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Paulo Moreno in the 35th minute of play. After 37 played minutes Nunes F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fabiano Reis. Mauro Varela's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tomé Barbosa firmly grabbed it by the left post. Tomé Barbosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Murilo Silveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Murilo Silveira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tomé Barbosa having to make a save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
