Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Severino Rezende took the kick off in the first half of the match. Venceslau's Ademir Dante got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cafu Meira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ademir Dante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Venceslau booed when Sume was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severino Rezende didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ademir Dante in the 17th minute of play forced Sume's goalkeeper Cafu Meira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Sume's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fábio Azevedo came free, but Cafu Meira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 19 minutes, Ademir Dante made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Sume's Cafu Meira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 41 played minutes Venceslau got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fábio Azevedo. In the 44thth minute of the game Luiz Fábio Azevedo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sume's Cafu Meira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ademir Dante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Cafu Meira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ademir Dante to make the kick off. In the 90th minute Ademir Dante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cafu Meira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Ademir Dante managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venceslau's supporters rose to their feet, but Ademir Dante was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cafu Meira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Venceslau's Ademir Dante got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Venceslau played a much better game than Sume and deserved their victory. The Sume players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
