Arlindo Saldanha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Célio Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Moreno having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Célio Leal got free with Alfredo Moreno in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alfredo Moreno made an important save on a dangerous shot by Célio Leal in the 16th minute. Alfredo Moreno made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Célio Leal sent off a good shot on target. If Célio Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 24 minutes, Júnior Toscano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Annapolis EC and the Arenal players grew even worse after the yellow card. Júnior Toscano hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After 25 played minutes, Arenal's Reginaldo Matos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alfredo Moreno came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Arenal reached it. Ivo de Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Alfredo Moreno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ivo de Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Moreno having to interfere. Eurico Mazza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Annapolis EC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Júnior Toscano hit a great ball. Alfredo Moreno made an important save on a dangerous shot by Célio Leal in the 41st minute. Ivo de Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Alfredo Moreno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Annapolis EC's goalkeeper Alfredo Moreno, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eurico Mazza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Arenal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivo de Souza to maneuver through the defense. In the 57th minute there was a penalty for Arenal. Reginaldo Matos stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alfredo Moreno. 1-0. It was a brilliant solo performance by Annapolis EC's Murilo França when he shot the ball into the net to 1-1 in the 61st minute. A collision led to Annapolis EC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Amílton Lara hit a great ball. After 69 minutes of play, Arenal's Ivo de Souza made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfredo Moreno was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 72 minutes, Célio Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arenal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Célio Leal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ivo de Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Moreno having to interfere. Arenal's attack was well implemented in the 78th minute, but when Ivo de Souza was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Alfredo Moreno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Célio Leal in the 86th minute of the match. Célio Leal might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alfredo Moreno. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Célio Leal ran back to his position shaking his head. Célio Leal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There was no doubt that Arenal were the better team. Arenal's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
