Esteban Kiliz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amílton Favoretto in the 23rd minute of the match. Geraldo Mineiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Esporte Clube Gatópolis defense, Diguinho do Nascimento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Esteban Kiliz. The Esporte Clube Gatópolis fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Esteban Kiliz should have stopped the shot. Esteban Kiliz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amílton Favoretto's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. If Valdir Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valdir Salgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was a brilliant solo performance by Esporte Clube Gatópolis's Hamílton Netto when he shot the ball into the net to 1-2 in the 42nd minute. After a long run with the ball, Hamílton Netto did a trick in the 47th minute in front of Joaquina's goalkeeper, who threw himself to the side. After that it was simple to shoot 2-2. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valdir Salgado stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Joaquina's Fiori Nóbrega got a free kick in the 67th minute. After 68 played minutes Esporte Clube Gatópolis got a freekick which was hit by Valdir Salgado. Joaquina's Amílton Favoretto got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 78th minute, Valdir Salgado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Valdir Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. Joaquina's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valdir Salgado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. Hamílton Netto came free in the 87th minute and tried to tip the ball over Carlos Alberto Moreno, but to the joy of Joaquina's supporters the ball went over. Carlos Alberto Moreno came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Esporte Clube Gatópolis's Valdir Salgado. But to his dismay, Valdir Salgado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-2. Caio Vergílio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Carlos Alberto Moreno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Alberto Moreno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdir Salgado in the 95th minute of play. In the 97th minute, Caio Vergílio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
