If Renatinho Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. One of fla ouro esporte:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ferias:s goal. After the first half fla ouro esporte were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Renatinho Mendes to make the kick off. Renatinho Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marquinhos Cavalcante having to interfere. In the 59th minute Cayetano Vedillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marquinhos Cavalcante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of fla ouro esporte booed when Ferias was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Pedro Abraão didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, fla ouro esporte's Marquinhos Cavalcante threw himself towards the right post 94 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Renatinho Mendes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With his leg Marquinhos Cavalcante managed to avoid a goal in the 96thth minute, when fla ouro esporte's Cayetano Vedillo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Valério Aguiar took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 98th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marquinhos Cavalcante. Ferias's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Ferias fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. fla ouro esporte were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
